I purchased my first armitron 4 yrs ago [...] .It just appeared to me that i hade not replaced the battery in it in that amount of time.I opened the watch to see if it could be replaced,to my surprice the battery is very big and cannot be replaced( about 4 times bigger than i thought it would be).This explains why the watch battery hase lasted as long as it did.I love the watch and dont know how much longer it will keep running because armitron gives no information about it, and since they are so cheap,i just decided to purchase another instead of taking my old one to a jeweler when the battery runs down.They are very sturdy and unbreakable like a gshock watch.The only drawback to the watch is that the wrist bands are not replaceable or interchangeable.

I purchased the red version of this watch about three years ago from a department store because I was traveling overseas to China and wanted a sturdy watch to help me keep time. (I use my cell phone most of the time and didn’t plan on buying one there.) I bought it with the feelings of “it’s good enough for my purposes,” but now it’s really grown on me. I even thought the style was a little goofy, but now I find it very eye-appealing and often get compliments about it. One of my favorite options is that it can keep two different times, but both are synced with each other. I know the time in China, and if I need to, I can switch modes to the time at home in America (nice when figuring out what time to call home).
As for quality, it’s still working fine. I’ve noticed the beep has faltered when I hit the buttons sometimes, so maybe the battery is going out, but I’ve never had to change it. I’ve worn it enough that the red paint on the EL button and the top edge of the watch face are rubbing off, revealing clear plastic and silver metal, respectively. It’s barely noticeable and probably gives it more character. Contrary to other reviews, my watchband hasn’t begun to crack at all (though I may not abuse it as much). If it ever dies on me, I’ll definitely buy the same model to replace it. At this price, you can’t beat it. Highly recommended.

My brother used to have the red one and I was always jealous so my parents got me this one but it was greyish. Then the wristband broke and they got me another model before I left for college. The wristband just broke on that one too. Nonetheless, I am going to get this watch again because I love it. I love the light, the water resistance, the date feature, and it just looks so cool. My wrist feels naked without it
and even though the wristband keeps breaking, the price is worth the 1-3 years it lasts.

Just want to say that i have had this watch for years. This watch pictured looks great with the revamped colors. The previous version of 40/6769Blue was exactly the same except the face had more silver and they changed it to black. Functionalality wise this is the best watch i have ever owned. I like to swim at the pool and would go swimming with this watch on and it did great in the water. I never had any problems not even so much as fogging on the glass. It has the time day of the week and date all readable on the face. So their is no pushing of buttons to find this info. The EL button lights up the face very bright like INDIGO watches. It lasts for a few seconds and the light fades to off after that. I drive for a living and the watch is great for working in the dark. It also has the 12/24 hour time option. I use the 24 hr military time all the time because the manifests for work are printed with military time and the paperwork must be completed with the same. I have only one complaint about the watch and that is the band. I am a hard worker and over years of wearing it the band wears out. When i took it to a watch repair store hoping to get a NEW band for my favorite watch. I was told its not replaceable. So when the band is shot time for a new watch. I am on the 3rd watch now ,… I still love it to death. And every couple years i have the benefit of getting the new color design. If they would make the band better so that it doesn’t crack after a few years or at least make it so you can change the band i would have given this watch 5 stars. But it is reasonably priced and does alot for the money. I don’t mind getting a new one every couple years. I hope this review helps.
