After owning this for less than 1 year water got under the case and the watch stopped working.

I bought this watch less than a year ago. it worked fine all up until now. it was easy to use and had good features. but after i went about 4 feet under water, it cracked and water leaked in and then it stopped working.

This will be my third ladies Marathon watch by Timex. I wear it 24/7 unless the occassion prohibits. They have simply worn out, but never leaked from water exposure or broke from wear and tear. The strap on the last one finally wore out. This sleek design (for a sport watch) has easy to use features and I’m purchasing several in case they go out of production.

This watch is the only watch I’ve been able to find with this type of timer feature (exept for one other Marathon model). It has about 10 preset time intervals — 15 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour. To set the timer for any of these intervals you just press the mode button and then tap the set button until the correct interval appears, and then press start. The whole process takes about 5 seconds. It is much easier than the watches where you have to enter the actual time for the timer. Another feature I love is that if I need to change the time (e.g. daylight savings time rolls around), the watch has written prompts on the screen that walk me through the process. I have been able to change the time everytime without frustration and without having to hunt down the instructions. I’ve gone through 2 of these watches — on one the strap broke and I couldn’t easily find a replacement, on the second one of the buttons stopped working. Each watch lasted about a year. This didn’t suprise me though since I wear my watch all day, every day and set the timer about 10 times a day (laundry, have to call someone, dinner’s ready.) This time I’m going to buy two and put one aside. I’d be lost if they discontinued the alarm feature.

this is my 3rd of these watches, I really like them. The only problem I have is that the band will break, and you can’t hardly get a new band. The band itself is sort of special at each end that connects to the watch. If I could find these watchbands I’ have a lot of watches!
